artist book, edition of 20

The book is made entirely from one family archive — mine — across four generations: military correspondence, navigation charts, sixty years of letters, a family newsletter edited during the Second World War. Hand-bound, screenprinted cover, edition of 20. First copies went out in October 2024.

The question under it is what happens to a record as it passes through hands. Each keeper saw the material from a different position. Every version is close to the truth and none is final. The book holds that without resolving it.

An accompanying paper, And Don't Say: Transmission, Transformation, and the Family Auto-Archive, works through the method.
